The owners of a private house in Tysmenytsia needed a solution for reliable backup power without relying on diesel generators. Their key requirements included the ability to power essential household appliances, heating systems, and achieve cost efficiency by taking advantage of reduced electricity tariffs during the night. The project aimed to combine solar energy generation, battery storage, and intelligent load management into a single, stable energy system.

Solution Delivered

  • Installation of a 20 kW solar power plant
  • Integration of a 25 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) based on LiFePO₄ technology, with online monitoring
  • Configuration of night-time battery charging from the grid at reduced tariffs
  • Daytime priority supply from solar generation
  • Separation of critical load circuits (lighting, sockets, Wi-Fi, circulation pumps)
  • Full DC and AC protection systems
  • Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and integration into the existing electrical network
  • Turnkey delivery: design, installation, commissioning, and system setup

Results

  • Up to 12 hours of backup power for critical loads during grid outages
  • Reduced daytime grid consumption with automatic, seamless switching
  • Optimised energy costs through a combination of night-time charging and daytime solar generation
  • Stable operation of heating and communication systems during blackouts

Benefits for the Homeowner

  • Up to 70% savings on electricity costs
  • Reliable backup power for up to 12 hours
  • Safe and autonomous electric heating
  • EV charging powered by solar energy
  • Estimated system cost: ~USD 22,000
  • Expected investment payback period: around 5 years
